Meet Shannen

Best therapist for teens and families in Corpus Christi and virtually in Texas. SHANNEN YEE Therapy

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Texas, supervised by LMFT-S Julia Wesley. My credentials are a BA in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, 2022 and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts, 2025.

My approach is rooted in relational psychotherapy, humanistic psychology, and family systems theory. These models adopt a non-pathologizing perspective, understanding negative symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and disordered behaviors as normal reactions to the difficulties of life and society - difficulties which vary in intensity depending on the individual. These approaches believe deeply in the ability for change and growth through connecting with ourselves and others in a meaningful way. The therapy works by identifying patterns, exploring deeply held beliefs, clarifying personal values, and fostering harmony within and between people. There are many interventions and ways to support your family or relationship through difficult times or periods of change.

I do this work because of my desire to live a life that is dedicated to understanding and embracing the human condition. I am described as a person longing to connect with others, a writer of poetry, a reader, a friend, and an explorer.

I am not here to put you in a box or tell you how to think. I am here to bring helpful self-reflection and I am thrilled to support your search for meaning and the freedom to act and feel like yourself.
